April 9th 2007

Hi again, Been a little busy as it has been Easter break from school the past two weeks. I have been taking advantage of the time off to get some crafting done....
My nephew Logan has asked us to host Flat Stanley for him.... Not sure if you all know anything about him or not..... You can check out the internet to find out about him and some of his escapades....Apparently he is quite famous and has loads of books written about him and his travels.... Anyway he has decided to come stay with us for a bit....

Here he is all dressed except his hat.... I wasn't quite sure how he should look so I asked my crafting buddies for some ideas. And Marc suggested the Palace guards. I didn't think Logan would have liked Stanley wearing a skirt so I didn't dress him as a Beefeater. I had thought of a Knight, but it seems my mates think that is more European than British. I guess I have now learnt something. Anyway here he is in his uniform so far.... a kind friend is sending me the black fur for his hat.

Since it is Easter Break, Linda and the kids usually come for a crafting session. We get together and get loads of craft stuff out and spread all over the kitchen or if it is summer all over the patio. And we have lunch.... I try out different American dishes on them and so far haven't had a failure. We have had things like sloppy joes, Tacos, Mexican pasta casserole and the likes. This time we had Meatball sandwiches.

This time we had a new addition to our crafting session as Flat Stanley wanted to get in on all the fun.

Linda worked on some ATC's for her swap with one of the craft groups we belong to, while I worked on some card toppers.

Elliot did really well and made an Iris folded Christmas tree, I think he really enjoys Iris folding. It is cool as from the back it looks a mess, but from the front it is really cool looking. He also used some patterns from a library book I had and he made a green pig.... And a fir tree to go with his pig.
Naomi had to work on a school Project and so was trying to make her Batiked spider a bit darker. Problem was she wasn't quite in the mood and the teacher was the one wanting it darker. Think that is wrong making an artist change her artwork just because the teacher wants it. Anyway she did have a bit of fun working on a little Jackolantern from the library book. It is really quite cute. Linda and Brian have some very clever kids!!! And talented too.

Well I finally got the fur in the post..... forgot it was holiday and post doesn't come on holidays...
I Got his hat made and here he is in his little palace guard uniform. Doesn't he look soooo cute. Some of my crafting buddies are taking him out and about to visit different places in the UK. So watch this space to see how Stanley gets on....

Thanks Nettie, I made him for my Nephew back in the US. I had some help with my ebay buddies on what he should be. He did turn out well.
